When I’ve forgotten tomorrow.

The breeze is knocking on my door
I told it to go back to the shore
I heard it saying that you’ve gone
To where there’s no tomorrow past dawn

My heart has eloped
I’ve got the key to the temple
But I’m not turning yet

Don’t look for me in those places
I forgot the names of those faces
I’m here with my appetite growing small
In a golden house made from straw

I’m right here where I belong
In the shadow of a birds song
You’ll see me flying in the sky
With the man on the moon waving good-bye

I’ve seen it all before
On the carpet on my floor
I’ve drank the sink dry
I’ve heard the pipes in my walls cry

I’ve talked to the crow in the tree
He doesn’t know much of love
But he says he knows me

The oil don’t run far to where it’s from
We’re stuck on this earth baby
Like your shoe on a piece of gum

Charlie hasn’t called me back
I’ve got the music player stuck on the same old track
I can’t help myself
I’ve got dust on my shelf

I told you im leaving soon
But I’ve lost the time
The breeze won’t listen to the moon
I’ve got to reach that finish line

I’m in debt to the cards
I thought I’d play
Got no need for cheating
Because I’m living for today

And I’ve got the telescope
To my ear
Wondering when I’ll hear- you
Climb up those steps
It takes a one, two, three, baby
Let’s hope you don’t forget.
