Science & Technology

When I was a young web-designer earning my stripes I got into a website "war" with a few other rival websites. My site was competition and the other websites who already had a foot in the market had banded together and hacked my site, costing me money, and the trust of my members. Was it wrong of them? Yes. Did I alert the authorities? No, I thought about it but decided rather to just move on and learn from my mistakes and build a stronger website. The point is that the internet is an anarchy at its best and stuff is getting hacked and rebuilt all the time. And hacking leads to the better. But what I'm about to demonstrate are easy internet hacks that are well known and easy to find. I'm merely letting you know what common methods are used on the internet, that the general public, surprisingly, isn't aware of. Even though "hackers" wouldn't consider these tips to be any form of extreme hacking or barely even hacking you and your mom will love the ease in doing these hacks and getting things you want free.

1) How to hack for free Internets:
If you hate having to pay for Wifi access then there's an easy hack that will allow you to bypass those pay-providers. If you find yourself at a location that only offers paid Wifi and try to access a website, you'll get redirected to a certain page which asks you to pay by credit card. If you're lucky, they'll also give the logo of the website you were trying to access in the first place (like the Google logo if you wanted google.com). The trick would be to add at the end of the URL a "?.jpg" so that if you were tyring to access google.com you'd enter at the end "google.com/?.jpg". The browser would provide the page, thinking that it's an image and you'll end up with free browsing.

2) How to tweak Google for Free Music:
Yes you can try traditional methods of just searching Google by entering a song name in their search but the majority of sites you'll receive will be sites that have only the lyrics to songs. If you try entering terms like "mp3" with an artist's song, you'll still end up with sites trying to sell you the mp3. To get free-mp3s and only free mp3s you need to set up the right parameters to filter out all those mp3s sitting on the net. And these are the proper parameters, just enter this code in the search bar: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3) “SONGNAME” Now just replace SONGNAME with the name of the song you want and google will find it for you.

3) How to hack for Facebook Photos:
Ever wish you had access to someone's photo album who isn't on your friend list? Now you can see that person's photos. When viewing your friend's Facebook albums you may find that they are in an album of someone who isn't your friend, and Facebook will prevent you from seeing the full album. Well this script will add a link to the album that will let view those photos. If you use Firefox, then just add to you plugins the Greasemonkey program. When you have Greasemonkey just download this script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/9580 ..and you're done. It may take a minute to understand how Greasemonkey works but with it you'll also be able to even change how Facebook looks, get rid of their ads, download people's videos and images easily and a lot more.

Wireless is one of the easiest things to hack it seems. WPA was recently cracked which means that there's no reliable password protection of a wireless signal.

Of course, any admin - or even a home user - should take a look every once in a while at their wireless router to ensure that it's not being used by anyone else, and routinely change their passwords. This is particularly important because in some cases where someone is stealing your signal, if they are doing something illegal with their internet, it's you who could get in trouble.
